Coastline Ceramics Desk Set

Coastline Ceramics Desk Set

Two pieces that earn their place on a desk — or a kitchen counter, or a windowsill. The cup, wheel-thrown from speckled stoneware and marked with a pressed terracotta disk, holds pens, brushes, or scissors with the quiet authority of something made entirely by hand. The catchall, carved in a faceted form and lined in matte white glaze, is equally suited to paper clips, rings, or the small objects that collect at the edges of a day.

Both pieces come from Lisa Fontaine's garage studio in the Berkeley Hills, where she works in wheel-thrown and hand-built forms shaped by the coastal landscapes of California. That influence reads not as decoration but as restraint: surfaces that feel geological, proportions that feel considered.
