FDB Møbler has been shaping Danish domestic design since the 1940s — the manufacturer behind some of the most considered furniture in Scandinavian homes, and the house that gave Laura Bilde the brief for the Sorø. The result is a wall-mounted shelving unit as direct in its logic as it is broad in its range: at home above a desk, in a kitchen, beside a bed, or lining a library wall. The construction is solid FSC-certified oak, oiled, with the joints where the vertical supports pass through the shelf brackets left fully exposed — honest craftsmanship that earns more of your attention over months of daily use than it announces on arrival. The grain of the oak does the rest. The knock-down system allows the unit to disassemble and reassemble cleanly, worth keeping across apartments and decades.
